Palmer Park


Donated to the city by General Palmer in 1899 Palmer Park is a very popular city park. Bordered from all sides by city sprawl it offers a unique place of wilderness in the middle of town. Many unique rock formations can be found throughout the park. Number of trails used by hikers, bikers and horse riders crisscrosses the area. There is a large playground, beach volleyball and baseball field located by Academy and Maizeland. Number of pullouts offers many opportunities for picnicking.

Directions: From I-25 take exit 145 to E Filmore St. Keep driving east and after crossing Union the road becomes N Circle Dr. Turn left on Maizeland Rd and continue to park entrance on the left.
