Homestead Ranch Regional Park

Homestead Ranch Regional Park is located east of Black forest, 20 miles northeast from Woodmen and Powers. Besides hiking trails, there is a small fishing pond, large playground, picnic pavilions, restrooms and a large parking lot.

Full hiking trail consists of two connected loops. The west loop takes you up to the top of tree covered bluffs. Eastern loop traverses open meadow, eventually returning back to the bluffs and a great view of Pikes Peak. Along the way, you will see a water tank with a windmill and a horse hitch rack. There are few benches available to sit and enjoy the view.

Distance: 3.3 miles if you combine both loops.

Hours: 5am to 11pm

Directions: Traveling east on US-24 turn left on Elbert Road. Drive north for 5 miles and then turn right on Sweet Road. After 2.3 miles turn left on Gollihar Rd. After 0.8 miles turn left on the dirt road to the park.
